Ballack brace keeps title alive

2 - 1

Full time

Chelsea beat Manchester United 2-1 to pull level at the top of the Premier League on Saturday and keep alive their hopes of snatching the title from United’s grasp.

Two goals from Michael Ballack kept alive Chelsea’s title hopes as they overcame Manchester United 2-1 in a pulsating clash at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s dreams appeared over after a monumental blunder by Ricardo Carvalho gifted United a 55th minute equaliser to Wayne Rooney.

But Michael Ballack won a hugely entertaining and dramatic match for Chelsea with an 86th minute penalty after heading the home side ahead at the end of the first half.
